Elaine Tan

I am a naturalist of the western United States with a focus on insects and birds. I enjoy learning about nature and developing our knowledge of it through research, communication, and illustration.

I grew up in the Los Angeles area learning about chaparral and desert ecosystems. I earned a bachelor's degree in Ecology and Evolution with a minor in Professional Writing at the University of California, Santa Barbara in June 2018​, and a  master's in Biology at the University of Utah in July 2023.
